News Olivier-Winning Caveman to Return to the West End in 2009 Rob Becker's international hit Defending the Caveman, seen on Broadway in 1995, will return to the West End with Australian actor Mark Little reprising the solo turn he first offered at the West End's Apollo Theatre in 1999.

The production will begin performances at the Leicester Square Theatre Feb. 3, 2009, prior to an official opening Feb. 6, for a five-week season to March 15. Prior to the West End, Caveman will be seen at Worthing's Pavilion Theatre Jan. 28-29, 2009.

The original production won the Olivier Award for Best Entertainment in 2000. Little is best known for his role as Joe Mangel in the Australian TV soap "Neighbours." On the British stage, he has appeared as Leigh Bowery in the Boy George musical Taboo and in the recent U.K. tour of Tim Firth's play Safari Party. In 2006 he played Costard in Love's Labour's Lost and Bottom in A Midsummer Night's Dream. In his native Australia, he appeared in a production of Alan Ayckbourn's A Chorus of Disapproval for Melbourne Theatre Company. On film he has appeared in "Blackball" and "Evil Angels." He has also regularly appeared in stand-up shows at Edinburgh, Brighton, Melbourne and Adelaide.

Defending the Caveman was originally created and performed by Rob Becker in San Francisco in 1991. It has since been seen by over five million people worldwide including in Germany, Slovenia, Belgium, France, the Czech Republic, Switzerland, Croatia, Russia, Latvia, Estonia, Slovakia, Australia and South Africa. Productions are planned next year for Argentina and Brazil.
