News Olivier-Winning Into the Woods Debuts on YouTube for Limited Time Digital Theatre's film of the Olivier Award-winning Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre production of James Lapine and Stephen Sondheim’s Into the Woods has been added to Digital's paid Youtube channel for a limited run.

Into the Woods joins ten other full-length shows available on Digital Theatre’s paid channel, which makes the productions available as part of a monthly subscription.

Into the Woods is now available to Digital Theatre YouTube subscribers for six weeks through Oct. 14; however, the production will remain available to buy or rent on the Digital Theatre website.

Digital Theatre also announced that a global virtual screening of Into the Woods will be offered Sept. 27 at 7:30 PM BST across all of Digital Theatre’s platforms.

Into the Woods, with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and a book by James Lapine, "takes the stories of the Brothers Grimm and gives them a dark and humorous twist," according to press notes. "The popular tales of Red Ridinghood, Jack (of Beanstalk fame), Cinderella and Rapunzel are interwoven with that of the Baker and his Wife and their quest to have a child. However this re-telling goes beyond 'happily ever after' as the familiar characters find themselves in unfamiliar circumstances and hopes and dreams are questioned and revisited."

Featuring the voice of Dame Judi Dench as The Giant and co-directed by Timothy Sheader and Liam Steel, the cast features Hannah Waddingham in the role of The Witch, Jenna Russell as the Baker’s Wife, Michael Xavier as Wolf/Cinderella’s Prince and Helen Dallimore as Cinderella.
