News One-Man Show Cat Brings "High Kicks and Swearing" to Northern Ireland Tonight Cat, a one-man show about a former member of the Cats cast who was fired opening night, begins performances at the Courtyard Theatre in Northern Ireland Feb. 23 following its sold-out run at the 2014 Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

Starring Gerard McCarthy, the production, which was written by Jamie Beamish and Richard Hardwick, continues through Feb. 28.

"Dave was in the original cast of Cats. On opening night he was sacked. He was not a happy pussy," press notes state. "This brand new comedy about the greatest musical theatre star that never got to shine finally makes it to The Courtyard Theatre. Starring Gerard McCarthy, Cat isn’t so much a love letter to musical theatre... more a death threat!"

McCarthy has appeared in the TV series "The Fall," "Titanic: Blood and Steel" and "Hollyoaks," among others. His stage work includes The Merry Wives of Windsor and Blue/Orange.

Cat features choreography by Arlene Phillips.
