The O’Neill Puppetry Conference and HERE’s Dream Music Puppetry Program present their third collaborative staging of Puppetry From There to HERE beginning Jan. 18 at the HERE Arts Center, 145 Sixth Avenue, between Spring and Broome Streets. The program runs through Jan. 21.

An annual feature of artistic director Kristen Marting's month-long CultureMart Festival, the O’Neill/HERE production "brings together leading puppet artists and practitioners to create new works for puppet theatre.

As reported earlier, the scheduled puppet programs include:

Rebuilding Alice by Gretchen Van Lente, where "diary entries, original text and fiction, explore the complex relationship between Lewis Carroll, the real-life Alice, and the works she inspired."

LOVE: Scenes 1 – 5 by Cathy McCullough, which involves "one woman’s search for the perfect valentine." • Interactive TV by Scott Hitz, a story of "what happens when puppeteer meets video technology."

A Letter To A.W. King From Aubrey Beardsley by Caleb Fullam and the Other Glove Theatre, in which "black and white cutouts bring to life an amusing and poignant episode in the formative years of the quintessential fin de siecle artist."

Monster in the Closet by Heather Asch, where "two little boys confront their worst fears during an overnight sleep-over."

Off-Balance by Ariel Goldberger, an imaginative piece that "explores what happens when two dream beings awake in a mysterious world."

Cleaning House by Deborah Hertzberg, portraying Donna Reed as she "breaks out of her 1950s mold."

Painting Pieces by Richard Termine, a story that explores "what happens when two painters approach their canvases and encounter each other – with brushes, easels and real paint."

Finding Love by Scott Land, a puppet show where the "movement of this marionette" is said to be as difficult to explain the subject of love.

The Weight of the Head by Ken Berman

The Prosecution of Rev. Bill Pruitt by Lunatique Fantastique Ensemble, a work where Liebe Wetzel and Company "animate the life of Rev. Bill Pruitt, prominent Presbyterian pastor, missionary, and alleged pedophile."

Persephone by Marcie Klein, where Persephone has "emerged from deep sleep and she is 'feelin’ good.'"

Tickets are $9-$12. For information and reservations call (212) 647 0202 or visit www.here.org.
