Only Human, rocker Mike Squillante’s musical in development, will get a November 2 industry presentation at the Oklahoma City University. The musical was previously developed under the title Lucifer, and received a high profile lab presentation in 2015.

Featuring music and lyrics by Squillante, Only Human has a book by Jess Carson and is directed by NJ Agwuna. Jesse Murphy and James Sears Bryant's Jesse James Films has partnered with Oklahoma City University to present the developmental workshop that features students from the Wanda L. Bass School of Music.

Producers are hopeful that the production will bow in New York next year. Only Human has choreography by Josue Jasmin and musical direction and arrangements by Adria Barbosa.

“When Playbill.com listed Oklahoma City University on their top 10 schools represented on Broadway, it made perfect sense to workshop Only Human at the University,” said producer Murphy. “The caliber of the institution, the unparalleled talent, and the resources we’ve received through this partnership have been monumental to the development of the production. We can’t wait to bring the show to New York next year.”
