Classic Arts News Op_ra de Montr_al Announces 2005-06 Season Plans Op_ra de Montr_al's 2005-06 season will include its first-ever performances of Chabrier's operetta L'ê_toile, Stravinsky's Oedipus Rex and Symphony of Psalms, and Mozart's La clemenza di Tito, the company announced.
Mark Lamos will direct L'ê_toile in a production imported from Glimmerglass Opera. The Stravinsky double bill is a Canadian Opera Company production directed by film director Fran‹ois Girard. Clemenza comes from Santa Fe Opera and is directed by Chas Rader-Shieber. Tenor Anthony Dean Griffy stars; conductor Bernard Labadie leads the Canadian period group Les Violons du Roy.

The season will also include Bellini's Norma, staring Hasmik Papian, and Verdi's Aida with Susan Patterson, Richard Margison, and Nancy Maultsby.
