Classic Arts News 'Opera in the Ballpark' - Samson et Dalila Simulcast in San Francisco Stadium Tonight It's probably the largest-ever opera simulcast in a single location. San Francisco Opera and the San Francisco Giants are joining forces to transmit tonight's performance of Samson et Delilah live from the stage of War Memorial Opera House to the city's AT&T Park.
The Saint-SaêŠns opera, with Clifton Forbis and Olga Borodina in the title roles and Patrick Summers conducting, will be shown in real time in high-definition video on the stadium's 3,200 square foot Mitsubishi Electric Diamond Vision scoreboard, described by both the team and the opera company as the highest-quality outdoor scoreboard in the U.S.

Admission is free, though tickets are required; audience members will be seated both in the stands and on the field. More than 30,000 tickets have already been registered at www.sfopera.com/giants. Anyone interested may still sign up this morning. Ticket holders will be admitted (general seating) at 6:30 p.m.; those who haven't registered ahead of time may enter beginning at 7:00. The pre-game pre-performance programming starts at 7:30, with the curtain going up at around 8:00.
