Classic Arts News Opera Memphis Opens Season with Lucia Opera Memphis opens its season tonight with Donizetti's Lucia di Lammermoor.
The production stars soprano Anna Vikre, a veteran of the company's 2002 staging of The Magic Flute, in the title role and is conducted by general and artistic director Michael Ching. Todd Wilander and David Lawrence Michael are Edgardo and Raimando, respectively.

The company's 49th season also includes a production of Puccini's Tosca directed by actor Charles Nelson Reilly, which opens on November 6, and stagings of Menotti's Amahl and the Night Visitors and Franz Lehšr's The Merry Widow.
