Classic Arts News Opera Rara Founder Patric Schmid Dies Suddenly Patric Schmid, founder and artistic director of Opera Rara, died suddenly before a concert performance of Donizetti's Il diluvio universale, the Financial Times reports.
Schmid was to give a pre-concert lecture at the Theatre Royal performance.

Opera Rara, a nonprofit record company founded by Schmid and Don White 35 years ago, focuses on forgotten operatic repertoire of the 19th century, and has produced many recordings for the Peter Moores Foundation.
