News Oprah Welcomes The Lion King July 17 "The Oprah Winfrey Show" will welcome the cast of The Lion King July 17.

The company of the hit Disney musical will perform the rousing opening number, "The Circle of Life," on the Emmy-winning talk show. "The Oprah Winfrey Show" airs in the metropolitan area on WABC-TV from 4-5 PM ET; check local listings.

The Elton John-Tim Rice musical has won over 30 major awards since its Broadway debut. Those include six Tony Awards, including one for Best Musical; eight Drama Desk Awards; six Outer Critics Circle Awards; two Sir Laurence Oliviers; the Evening Standard Award for Best Theatrical Event; and three Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Awards.
