News   Orfeh, DeHaas and Goldsberry Will Remember the Time at Ars Nova Aug. 12
Performers have been announced for Remember the Time: The Music of Michael Jackson, which will take place Aug. 12 at the Ars Nova in midtown.

Musical director and orchestrator Jesse Vargas created the concert that will feature Orfeh (Legally Blonde), Darius DeHaas (Rent, Children of Eden), Renee Elise Goldsberry (The Color Purple), as well The Broadway Boys, Jay Johnson, Morgan Karr, Arthur Lewis and Steven Booth. Vargas will lead a seven-piece band for the concert. Catherine Brookman, Starr Busby and Julius Thomas III will provide background vocals.

Additional performers will be announced shortly.

"Broadway's most talented performers come together to celebrate the iconic songbook of one of the most celebrated artists of our time," according to press notes. "Broadway's Jesse Vargas guides us on a tour of the many stages of Michael: from Motown's Jackson 5 to the group's disco and dance turn, and, finally, to platinum pop stardom. Join us for a rocking evening of some of the most popular songs of the past 50 years, performed by Broadway favorites and backed by a thumping band."
