Origin Theatre will present the third annual Bloomsday Breakfast at Bloom’s Tavern June 16 at 7:30 AM. The immersive event re-creates the summer morning chronicled in James Joyce’s Ulysses, in which the protagonist eats a breakfast of offal.

June 16 is known as Bloomsday to Joyce fans around the world as the action of Ulysess takes place on the same day in 1904.

Bloomsday Breakfast at Bloom’s Tavern will feature guest appearances by some of the cast of Himself and Nora, a new musical about Joyce and his muse, Nora Barnacle; writer and activist Malachy McCourt; author Colin Broderick; and actors Jim Norton, Fionnula Flanagan, Charlotte Moore, Terry Donnelly, Brenda Meaney and Fiona Walsh.

The morning event will also include a costume competition, with attendees encouraged to arrive in period attire.

The event is free, but reservations are recommended; you can book here. Bloom’s Tavern is located at 298 East 56th Street, New York.
