The sun will come out April 21, when the musical Annie celebrates the 40th anniversary of its Broadway opening.
On April 30, cast members from the show’s original run, including original Annie, Andrea McArdle, and her eventual successor, Sarah Jessica Parker, are scheduled to take part in Annie Turns 40: Back to the Orphanage, an anniversary reunion of Broadway’s original Annies and orphans at The Winery at St. George in northern Westchester County, New York.
Also announced to attend: Shelley Bruce, Allison Smith, Alyson Kirk, Danielle Brisebois, Kristen Vigard, Diana Barrows, Janine Ruane, and Donna Graham. They will “reminisce with untold stories, music, and more.” Jeremy Franklin Goodman will serve as the music director and pianist. There will be two shows, at 1 and 6 PM. Parker is scheduled to take part in the 1 PM show only; that show is sold out.
McArdle and Bruce performed at the winery in July 2016:
The original Broadway production of Annie opened April 21, 1977, at what was then the Alvin Theatre, now the Neil Simon Theatre.
The winery is located at 1715 East Main Street in Mohegan Lake, New York. Tickets cost $175–$225. For reservations, call (914) 455-4272, or visit SmartTix.
