News Original Cast Members to Return for Dog Sees God Reading at FringeNYC Original Off-Broadway and Toronto cast members will reunite for a one-night-only performance of Bert V. Royal's comedy Dog Sees God, which will be offered Aug. 11 as the final performance of the New York International Fringe Festival's Benefit series.

Originally presented at the 2004 New York International Fringe Festival, Dog Sees God made a commercial Off-Broadway transfer in 2005 with a host of young celebrities in tow. Royal is a GLAAD Media Award winner for Dog Sees God, which also won the Excellence Award for Best Overall Production in 2004.

Lezlie Wade, who staged the original 2009 Toronto production, will direct the 7 PM staged reading at the Laurie Beechman Theatre that will include original Off-Broadway cast members Kelli Garner, Karen DiConcetto, Colby Chambers and Brian Patrick Murphy. Joining them will be original Fringe cast member Clay Black and Toronto cast members Jake Epstein, Paula Brancati and Lindsey Clark.

According to FringeNYC, "In Dog Sees God a group of kids very much like the Peanuts gang discovers the difficulty of finally growing up."

Royal also penned the screenplay for the 2010 film "Easy A," starring Emma Stone.

The original Off-Broadway cast of Dog Sees God included Eddie Kaye Thomas ("American Pie," Smelling A Rat), America Ferrara ("Ugly Betty," "The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants"), Ian Somerhalder ("Lost," "Rules of Attraction"), Ari Graynor (The Little Dog Laughed, Brooklyn Boy, "Mystic River") and Logan Marshall-Green ("The O.C.," The Distance From Here).
