News Original Cast of Del Shores' Trailer Trash Housewife Will Reunite for Film Adaptation Del Shores' 2003 play The Trials and Tribulations of a Trailer Trash Housewife will make its way to the big screen, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Award-winning actress Beth Grant, who originated the role of Willadean Winkler in the acclaimed Los Angeles debut of the play, will reprise her role in the film. Additional cast members from the original L.A. production are expected to return, including Dale Dickey, Octavia Spencer, David Steen and Debby Holiday.

Shores has authored the screenplay based on his play. He will also direct the film, which will be shot in Atlanta. Joe Patrick Ward will pen the score and new original songs for the film.

The Southern-set Trials and Tribulations of a Trailer Trash Housewife centers on the often-untold inner feelings of abused women and the hope, healing and humor they find along their journey.

Robert L. Rearden Jr. will produce with Del Shores Productions, Emerson Collins and Grant's Big Leap Productions.

Shores is best known as the writer of Sordid Lives and Southern Baptist Sissies. His works also include Daddy's Dyin' (Who's Got the Will?) and Yellow.
