According to press materials, "Palin has decided to 'fart in the general direction' of fellow Python legend Eric Idle" to appear in the role of God during the week of Aug. 26, stepping into the heavenly robes previously worn by Hugh Bonneville, Barbara Windsor, Bradley Walsh, Simon Callow and Christopher Biggins, who have also filmed the role of God, sending Idle down the pub during the warmer months. Palin's nominated charity is Action for Stammering Children. Palin will be followed beginning Sept. 2 by Larry Lamb, with further celebrity weeks to be announced.
