News Other Voices VII Benefit Features Melba Moore and Stars of Zanna, Don't! Melba Moore will headline Other Voices VII, the annual joint benefit concert for Shotgun Productions and the Organization for Autism Research.

The Nov. 10 evening begins at 6 PM with cocktails, followed by dinner at 7 PM and the one-hour entertainment at 8 PM. Radio personality Christine Nagy (Z-100 FM's "Z Morning Zoo") will host the concert, which will feature Moore and her jazz band as well as performers from last season's Off Broadway productions of Zanna, Don't! and The Chaos Theories. Shotgun Productions is a nonprofit theatrical production company committed to developing new works by emerging women artists.  The Organization for Autism Research is dedicated to raising money for practical research into the many challenges of autism.

Melba Moore was last on Broadway in Les Misérables portraying the ill-fated Fantine. A singer with a multi-octave range, Moore began her career as a back-up singer for the likes of Aretha Franklin, Dionne Warwick and Liza Minnelli. Her work in the original company of Hair led to her Tony-winning role in Purlie, and since then Moore has performed in concert arenas throughout the world. Her R&B hits include “I Am His Lady,” “Falling” and “Read My Lips,” which was nominated for a Grammy Award. Moore can currently be seen in the new Paramount film “The Fighting Temptations.”

Tickets for the benefit are priced $150-$3,500 and are available by calling (212) 689-2322. Other Voices VII will be held at Caroline's on Broadway, located in Manhattan at 1639 Broadway at 50th Street.
