Chazz Palminteri, recently seen on Broadway in A Bronx Tale; Jersey Boys choreographer Sergio Trugillo; and August: Osage County stars Rondi Reed, Madeleine Martin and Amy Morton will present the awards at the annual ceremony, which begins at 6 PM. Established in 2000 by The Broadway League, the Touring Broadway Awards are the first national awards to recognize tours of Broadway productions. League presenters representing over 240 markets select the recipients.
Awards will be presented in the following categories: Best New Touring Musical, Best Touring Play, Best Design of a Touring Production, Best Musical Score of a Touring Production, Best Direction of a Touring Production, Best Choreography of a Touring Production, Best Long-Running Touring Musical (shows that have been on the road for over three years), the Touring Broadway Achievement Award (recognizing a performer, individual or organization that has shown exceptional dedication to Touring Broadway) and the Touring Broadway Audience Choice Award.
Last year's big winners were Monty Python's Spamalot, which was named Best New Musical; and Doubt, which was named Best Play. Spamalot also took home awards for Production Design and Direction.
