New Jersey's Paper Mill Playhouse confirms it is "certainly considering Anything Goes for a fall run," but stopped short of making any official announcement about a possible production of the Cole Porter musical.

This confirmation followed a report which indicated that Kathy Lee Gifford would not be replacing Bernadette Peters in Irving Berlin's Annie Get Your Gun (as rumored) and that Gifford was "assessing the role of Reno Sweeney in Anything Goes, which will possibly be presented at Paper Mill Playhouse and filmed for PBS."

Though Anything Goes may be done at the Paper Mill Playhouse, no decision has been made whether to present it as the first or second musical of the coming season, a theatre source said.

Meanwhile, the Paper Mill Playhouse is actively promoting the shows it is presenting this season. Paper Mill's most recent production, Death Trap, loaded out April 2. The next show, Sigmund Romberg's romantic musical, The Student Prince, is scheduled to begin immediately.
