With an official opening scheduled for Sept. 12, "The Fats Waller Musical Show" will run through Oct. 19 and boasts a cast that includes E. Faye Butler, Darius de Haas, Doug Eskew, Angela Robinson and Natasha Yvette Williams. Ken Roberson — of Avenue Q fame — directs and choreographs the revue, which kicks off the Paper Mill's 2003-2004 season. William Foster McDaniel is the show's musical director. The creative team comprises Neil Patel (sets), Paul Tazewell (costumes), Betsy Adams (lights) and Duncan Robert Edwards and David F. Shapiro (sound). From Sept. 10-14, the New Jersey Theatre is offering a special "Family Week." During this period, children will be admitted at half-price when an adult ticket is purchased at full price.

Conceived and originally directed by Richard Maltby, Jr., Ain't Misbehavin' was based on an idea by Maltby and Murray Horwitz. The original Broadway production made a star out of its leading lady, the late Nell Carter, and featured such Fats Waller tunes as "Mean to Me," "Honeysuckle Rose," "Black and Blue" and the title tune.

Tickets — priced between $30 and $67 — are now on sale by calling the theatre's box office at (973) 376-4343. Student rush tickets are priced at $16 and are available the day of performance with a valid ID. The Paper Mill is located in Millburn, N.J., on Brookside Drive.
