Brian Parks' satiric comedy about the world of medicine, Goner, will be given a benefit performance at 8 PM July 22 at Soho's Manhattan Ensemble Theatre space. The work will be traveling to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival this summer. David Calvitto, Bill Coelius, Leslie Farrell, Jody Lambert, Jason Nuzzo, Matt Oberg and Jona Tuck will star in the reading, which is directed by Parks' longtime interpreter, John Clancy.

Parks has had luck in Edinburgh before. His Americana Absurdum was a Fringe First Award for outstanding new work in 2000. When not writing plays, Parks is the theatre editor at The Village Voice.
