News Parris, Nordstrom and Farrar Set for Thoroughly Modern Millie in St. Louis Mamie Parris and Ben Nordstrom will star in the Stages St. Louis production of Thoroughly Modern Millie, beginning May 30.

The 2002 Tony Best Musical Tony winner kicks off the 22nd season at Stages St. Louis, running through June 29. Parris (The Drowsy Chaperone) stars in the title role with Nordstrom (The Gorey Details) as her love interest, Jimmy Smith.

The tuner features a 1920's-inspired score by Jeanine Tesori and a book by Richard Morris and Dick Scanlan, who also penned the lyrics. The popular musical is based on the 1967 movie starring Julie Andrews and features the songs "Not For The Life of Me," "Only in New York," "Forget About the Boy," "Gimme Gimme" and the title song.

Joining Parris and Nordstrom are Kari Ely as Mrs. Meers, Pamela Brumley as Miss Dorothy Brown, Graham Rowat (LoveMusik) as Mr. Trevor Graydon and Thursday Farrar (Aida) as Muzzy Van Hossmere.

The Millie ensemble comprises Rachel Kopf, Taylor Pietz, Molly Mahoney, Amy Board, Ellen Isom, Lisa M. Ramey, Meegan Midkiff, Devin Ilaw, Allan Mangaser, Zoe Vonder Harr, Tripp Pettigrew, Scott Seay, Zak Edwards, Brandon Davidson, Chris Allen, Mike Frankey, Andrew Laudel, Drew Nellessen and Julia Mackenzie.

Michael Hamilton directs the musical with choreography by Dana Lewis and musical direction by Lisa Campbell Albert. Designing Millie are scenic designer Mark Halpin, costume designer Lou Bird, lighting designer Matthew McCarthy and orchestral designer Stuart M. Elmore.
