News   Pasbjerg and Scardino Team Up as Alchemy Production Group The general management and producing companies One Viking Productions and Theatre Production Group have merged as Alchemy Production Group, Variety reported. One Viking's president Carl Pasbjerg and TPG president Frank P. Scardino run the new company together.

The company's upcoming Broadway projects reportedly include the spring revival of Guys and Dolls and the Roundabout's co-production of Dancin', as well as the Broadway-aimed musical Memphis. Broadway, Las Vegas and international shows are all on the Alchemy plate, according to the trade paper. The New York office will include a staff of about five.

Pasbjerg recently served as senior vice president of theatrical production at Clear Channel Entertainment/Live Nation, and was the executive producer for the $35 million production of The Phantom of the Opera at the Venetian Resort in Las Vegas. Broadway producing and management credits include 700 Sundays starring Billy Crystal, Lennon, Hollywood Arms, Judgment at Nuremberg, The Ride Down Mt. Morgan with Patrick Stewart, The Herbal Bed, Taking Sides with Ed Harris, The Gershwins' Fascinating Rhythm, Jekyll & Hyde, Steel Pier and Victor/Victoria with Julie Andrews, Off-Broadway's Addicted…a comedy of substance, tours of Cabaret starring Teri Hatcher, South Pacific starring Robert Goulet, Cover Girls, Dora The Explorer Live, Blue's Clues Live, Scooby Doo Live, Rocket Power Live, Master Class, My Fair Lady and Delerium with Cirque du Soleil, plus regional and developmental productions of Little Women, All Shook Up, Only A Kingdom, Amour and Quartett.

Scardino, who formed TPG, a production and management company, has served as executive producer or general manager for Follies (Broadway), Ragtime (Broadway, Los Angeles, Toronto and tour), The Phantom of the Opera (Toronto and International tour), Sunset Boulevard (Toronto), To Grandmother's House We Go (Broadway), Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat starring Donny Osmond (Chicago, Toronto and North American tour), Aspects of Love (tour), Kiss of the Spider Woman (Broadway and tour), Show Boat (Broadway, Toronto, Chicago and tour), Barrymore starring Christopher Plummer (Broadway), Candide (Broadway) and Music of the Night starring Colm Wilkinson (tour). Scardino has been responsible for over 50 productions — Broadway, Off-Broadway, national and regional; and was formerly general manager for Jujamcyn Theaters and Productions. His other Broadway credits include The 1940's Radio Hour, On the Twentieth Century, Pippin, The Mikado and the original company of Chicago, among others. Most recently Theatre Production Group has managed Jackie Mason's Laughing Room Only on Broadway, and the tour of Will Rogers Follies starring Larry Gatlin.
