Even snowflakes aren’t as ubiquitous as Christmas CDs this time of year, but if there’s room on your shelf for one more, several Broadway stars would like it to be “For Aria: Love at Christmas Time from Broadway,” a benefit CD being recorded Dec. 10 and rushed into release before the holidays.
The reason for the urgency? All proceeds from sales of the disc will benefit seven-year-old Aria Lams, daughter of musical director Jeff Lams (The Civil War). Stricken with leukemia, Lams is about to undergo her second and final bone marrow transplant.
According to the Barlow-Hartman press office, notables at the recording session include Adam Pascal (Aida), Alice Ripley (The Rocky Horror Show), Emily Skinner (The Full Monty), Matt Bogart, Jessica Boevers (A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum), Joe Machota, Terrence Mann, Brian Stokes Mitchell (Kiss Me, Kate), Clarke Thorell. A Broadway choir will also be part of the Sunday evening recording session at the Empire Recording Studio.
