The 9:30 PM concert features Rebell's lyrics paired with the music of composers Danny Abosch, Will Buck, Josh Freilich, Elizabeth Hagstedt, Teresa Lotz, Madeline Myers and Willem Oostheuysen.

Performers include Anastasia Barzee (Urinetown, Henry IV), Brightman (Big Fish, Wicked), Joe Carroll (Cinderella, Romeo and Juliet), Autumn Hurlbert (NBC's "Sound of Music Live!," Second Stage's Nobody Loves You), Kate Loprest (Under My Skin, First Date), Samantha Massell (Encores! Little Me, La Boheme), Thompson (Off-Broadway's Giant), Wicks (Jekyll & Hyde, Wicked) and Zaken (Spring Awakening, Freckleface Strawberry).

Past Is Present, according to press notes, "transcends eras to deliver contemporary tunes with a classic flair… and classic-sounding songs with the spunk of today. Featuring unexpected characters like a lusty Mona Lisa, a neurotic skier, and a Victorian mother, Rebell's lyrics create worlds heartfelt and silly; places moving and irreverent. Fresh from NYU's prestigious graduate musical theatre writing program, Rebell is a new talent poised to take New York by a special, surprising kind of storm."

Rebell's musical Rose Petals (written with Elizabeth Hagstedt) was an official selection of NYMF 2013's developmental reading series, and Off The Wall (with music by Danny Abosch) was presented at NYU.

Jen Wineman (F$%king Up Everything) directs Past Is Present, with musical direction by Karen Dryer (The 25th Annual Putnumn County Spelling Bee national tour).

The Metropolitan Room is located at 34 West 22nd Street. For more information and tickets, call (212) 206-0440 or click here.
