Patina Miller, a 2011 Tony Award nominee, stars as leading lady Deloris Van Cartier in the new Broadway musical Sister Act. In "Patina's Journey," the performer's first audition out of school turned into her first Broadway musical, which earned Miller her first Tony nomination.

Here, the actress expresses how Sister Act made her dreams come true—she discusses auditioning for producer Whoopi Goldberg, performing in London and finally making it to the Broadway Theatre in New York City.

Also, director Jerry Zaks, composer Alan Menken, and book writer Douglas Carter Beane talk about working with Miller, and footage from her initial Sister Act auditions are shown in "Patina's Journey."

According to producers, "When disco diva Deloris Van Cartier (Miller) witnesses a murder, she is put in protective custody in the one place cops are sure she won't be found - a convent! Disguised as a nun, she finds herself at odds with both the rigid lifestyle and an uptight Mother Superior (Victoria Clark). Using her unique disco moves and singing talent to inspire the choir, Deloris breathes new life into the church and community, but in doing so blows her cover. Soon the gang are giving chase, only to find themselves up against Deloris and the power of her new found Sister Hood."
