Written by Kay Cattarulla and directed by Maria Tucci, the cast features two-time Emmy Award winner and Academy Award nominee Patricia Clarkson (“Six Feet Under,” "Pieces of April") and Tony winner John Benjamin Hickey (The Normal Heart, “The Big C”).

"New York in the Jazz Age, glamorous life on the Riviera, competing ambitions, true love — what didn’t go into the Fitzgeralds’ legendary marriage?" press notes ask. "Hear the story in their own words — drawn from novels, including The Great Gatsby and Tender Is the Night, alongside commentary from intimates like Ernest Hemingway and others. Their edgy union, challenged by traumatic breakdowns and critical failures, found its best expression in their final letters, which are among the most moving ever written."

“Scott and Zelda embody the Roaring Twenties with its glorification of youth, excess, and rebellion,” said Deborah Rothschild, senior curator emerita, Williams College Museum of Art, in a previous statement. “Kay Cattarulla's play provides insight into the dynamics of Scott and Zelda’s life together, demonstrating—mostly in their own words—how they could not live fully with or without each other. As destructive and unkind as they were at times to one another, so in equal measure were they devoted and loving companions."

Cocktails will be served in the lobby beginning at 6:30 PM; a short video excerpt from Williams College Museum of Art’s 2007 exhibit, “Making it New: The Art and Style of Sara and Gerald Murphy,” will be playing as well.

Tickets are $60 for Orchestra and First Balcony seating and $40 for Second Balcony seating. Tickets for all 2013 Williamstown Theatre Festival productions can be purchased online at wtfestival.org, by phone at (413) 597-3400, or in person at the ’62 Center for Theatre and Dance Box Office at 1000 Main St. (Route 2), Williamstown, MA.
