Patrick Boyd, the actor who played Kansas in the TV movie of Gypsy with Bette Midler, understudied Sam Harris in Broadway's Grease and sang Gershwin on the national tour of Crazy for You, wraps his three-show cabaret act, Boy, Oh Boy!, May 12 at Manhattan's Don't Tell Mama. Boyd made his New York City cabaret debut in February with Boy, Oh Boy! and will reprise the show April 28 and May 5. The final performance is 7 PM May 12. Bryan Schimmel musical directs.

The show is expected to play summer dates in Hot Springs, AR, New Hope, PA, and Provincetown, MA.

Boy, Oh Boy! "loosely looks at the boys and boy roles in musical theatre, from a variety of angles," the actor said. Boyd draws on the many roles he has played and also incorporates his magic and illusion skills into the show.

Songs heard will include "Giants in the Sky," "All I Need Is the Girl," "Johanna," Maria," "Sarah" (all three in a medley), "What Kind of Fool Am I?," "Corner of the Sky" and more.

Boyd just returned from Florida where he performed the role of Bill Calhoun in Kiss Me, Kate (and choreographed) at the Riverside Theatre in Vero Beach, the only other theatre beyond Broadway's Martin Beck to have the rights. He's currently in rehearsals for Singin' in the Rain in Indianapolis.

Cover is $12 with a two-drink minimum. Don't Tell Mama is at 343 W. 46th St in Manhattan. Call (212) 757-0788 for information.
