Cassidy will star as the titular Biblical boy who is sold into slave by his brothers who envy their father's favor towards him. Joseph then embarks on a journey which leads him to Egypt where — because of his portending dreams — he saves the country from famine and eventually his brothers from death. Tim Rice provides lyrics for Webber's music.

The actor was last seen on Broadway opposite his mother Shirley Jones in 42nd Street. He has also appeared on the boards in Aida, Annie Get Your Gun, Leader of the Pack and The Pirates of Penzance as well as Off-Broadway in the original cast of Assassins at Playwright's Horizon as The Balladeer.

Adams will take on the role of The Narrator in the production of Joseph.... The pink-locked songstress from season three of "American Idol" got to sing "Power of Love" by her self-proclaimed sound-alike Celine Dion.
