News Patti LaBelle Makes B'way Stand Jan. 13-25 Belles are ringing on Broadway this winter!

Belles are ringing on Broadway this winter! Of course, pop singer and actress Deborah Gibson is the current Broadway Belle (in Beauty And The Beast). Now, as reported by the New York Post and confirmed by a spokesperson for producer Manny Kladitis, another Belle is coming to Broadway -- Patti LaBelle, that is. She's doing her first Broadway concert gig, An Evening With Patti LaBelle, since appearing at the Minskoff in 1986.

This updated version of Patti LaBelle On Broadway features the multi-octaved singer backed by three singers (essentially a stop on LaBelle's current tour). The show begins and officially opens Jan. 13, 1998 for a run through Jan. 25, 1998 at the St. James Theatre. LaBelle will thus be filling the gap between the close of A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum, Jan. 4, 1998 and the March 1998 previews of George C. Wolfe's On The Town.

Tickets are now on sale at the St. James box office or via TeleCharge (212) 239-6200. You can also order tickets on Playbill On-Line.
