Two-time Tony Award winner Patti LuPone will return to Chicago for two shows at Steppenwolf Theatre on March 5. The shows are based on Deconstructing Patti, An Evening of Broadway Songs and Stories with Patti LuPone and Seth Rudetsky, which the two presented last fall as a benefit for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.
The Evita and Gypsy star will be joined by SiriusXM radio host and Playbill columnist Seth Rudetsky for the 6:30 PM and 9 PM shows that are presented as part of the theatre’s LookOut series, which brings audiences and artists together for an up-close and personal evening in Steppenwolf's new 80-seat venue, The 1700 Theatre.
LuPone’s last major Chicago outing was the pre-Broadway world premiere of War Paint at the Goodman Theatre in 2016. LuPone and co-star Christine Ebersole were Tony nominated for their performances in the musical about cosmetics giants Helena Rubinstein and Elizabeth Arden.
Tickets go on pre-sale to Steppenwolf members February 2. General tickets go on sale February 6 at 11 AM. Visit steppenwolf.org.
