News Patti Murin, Kim Zimmer and Cliffton Hall Will Fly Into Wicked North American Tour in August Patti Murin, who played the title role in the Broadway production of Lysistrata Jones, will join the company of the first North American tour of Wicked as Glinda. The production will also welcome Kim Zimmer and Cliffton Hall.

Zimmer and Hall will begin performances as Madame Morrible and Fiyero, respectively, Aug. 14 in Salt Lake City, UT. Murin will join the production Aug. 21.

Zimmer is an Emmy Award winner for her work as Reva Shayne on "Guiding Light." Her regional and Off-Broadway credits include Four Dogs And A Bone; Love, Loss, And What I Wore; Blood Brothers; Gypsy; Sunset Boulevard; Dirty Blonde; Curtains; and Shirley Valentine, among others.

Hall, who has played Fiyero in the San Francisco production of Wicked, has been seen on Broadway in Miss Saigon and Les Miserables.

Murin, who was also seen on Broadway in Xanadu, originated the title role in Lysistrata Jones Off-Broadway and subsequently on. The actress was most recently seen as Roxie Hart in the Muny's production of Chicago and has appeared in Jane Austen's Emma at the Old Globe Theatre.

Murin, Zimmer and Hall join a cast that stars Nicole Parker as Elphaba and PJ Benjamin as The Wizard. The company also features Justin Brill (Boq), Clifton Davis (Dr. Dillamond), Demaree Hill (Nessarose) and Carla Stickler (standby for Elphaba) with Lauren Boyd, Antonette Cohen, Rick Desloge, Luis Augusto Figueroa, Timothy A. Fitz-Gerald, Napoleon W. Gladney, Brenda Hamilton, Courtney Iventosch, Spencer Jones, Trevor Ryan Krahl, Renee Lawless-Orsini, Philip Dean Lightstone, Marissa Lupp, Michael Mahany, Kevin McMahon, Ashley Dawn Mortensen, Cassie Okenka, Christopher Russo, Adea Michelle Sessoms, Sarah Schenkkan, Pamela Shandrow, Ben Susak, Shanna VanDerwerker and Mikey Winslow. Wicked, featuring music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz with a book by Winnie Holzman, is based on the 1995 best-selling novel by Gregory Maguire. The musical is directed by Tony Award winner Joe Mantello and features musical staging by Tony Award winner Wayne Cilento.

According to producers, "Long before Dorothy drops in, two other girls meet in the land of Oz. One – born with emerald green skin – is smart, fiery and misunderstood. The other is beautiful, ambitious and very popular. Wicked tells the story of their remarkable odyssey, how these two unlikely friends grow to become the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good."

Wicked features set design by Eugene Lee, costume design by Susan Hilferty, lighting design by Kenneth Posner and sound design by Tony Meola. Stephen Oremus is the show’s music director. Orchestrations are by William David Brohn, with dance arrangements by James Lynn Abbott.
