News Paul Oakley Stovall and Brad Simmons Welcome Tonya Pinkins and Mx Justin Vivian Bond Aug. 28 at 54 Below Paul Oakley Stovall and Brad Simmons offer an evening of covers and original tunes Aug. 28 at Manhattan's newest nightspot, 54 Below.

The evening, which will be recorded live, is entitled The Next Best Thing to Love and begins at 8:30 PM. The two artists will be joined by Tony winner Tonya Pinkins and Mx Justin Vivian Bond, who will share a few love poems. Simmons, who is also featured on piano, penned the arrangements. Songs include "Let's Wait Awhile" (Janet Jackson), "Just the Way You Are" (Billy Joel),"Everybody Wants to Rule the World" (Tears for Fears), "Love Me Still" (Chaka Khan), "I Can't Make You Love Me" (Bonnie Raitt), "Money Changes Everything" (Cyndi Lauper), "Let's Stay Together" (Al Green) and "Get Here" (Oleta Adams), among others.

Stovall's play, Immediate Family, is currently running at Chicago's Goodman; Phylicia Rashad directs. He and Simmons plan to take their concert act to Europe and South America this winter.
