Classic Arts News PBS Broadcasts American Ballet Theatre Swan Lake An American Ballet Theatre production of Swan Lake starring Gillian Murphy and Angel Corella will be broadcast on PBS starting tonight (check local listings).
The broadcast is part of the Great Performances: Dance in America series.

In ABT's production, recorded in February at the Kennedy Center, Murphy dances the part of Princess Odette and Corella is Prince Siegfried; the cast also includes Marcelo Gomes and Isaac Stappas. The music is by Tchaikovsky; the choreography is by ABT director Kevin McKenzie, based on the classic 1895 version by by Marius Petipa and Lev Ivanov of the St. Petersburg Imperial Theatre. The scenery and costumes are by Zack Brown.

Swan Lake returns to ABT's repertoire next month as part of its current spring season at the Metropolitan Opera House.
