A Playbill On-Line reader alerted us to the news that a Burlington, VT public television station (which also broadcasts in Montreal, Canada) will air "An Evening With Patti LuPone," Aug. 18. The concert will be televised on channel 33 (Cable 14 in Montreal) 8-9:30 PM. This celebration of LuPone's career in the theatre was taped at the McCallum Theatre in Palm Desert, CA. Songs include "Don't Cry For Me Argentina," "I Dreamed A Dream," "Being Alive" (Company); "As If We Never Said Goodbye" (Sunset Boulevard) and "I Get A Kick Out Of You."

LuPone starred on Broadway in Master Class, in 1988's Anything Goes at Lincoln Center, and in 1984's Accidental Death of an Anarchist at the Belasco Theatre. Her most famous role -- for which she won 1980 Tony and Drama Desk Awards -- was as Eva Peron in Evita.
