CHICAGO -- Pegasus Players has found a fitting way to start the year, by allowing some new voices announce their future. The North Side theater's 12th Annual Young Playwrights Festival, Jan 14 to Feb. 1, lets promising teenage dramatists create art out of their often messy lives. Over the past 12 years, 2,800 young writers have introduced over 45,000 teenagers to the power of plays. This year's crop, harvested from hundreds of submissions, contains dramas that deal with gang violence, coping with cancer, a role reversal between father and son, and a communication crisis between a mother and daughter.
