I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change, the Energizer Bunny of Off-Broadway musical revues, will become the longest-running of it breed Jan. 7. Perfect/Change, which turned four years old in August, has run 1,848 performances, besting former title-holder Jacques Brel Is Alive and Well and Living in Paris.
The hit revue about dating, romance, marriage, lovers, husbands, wives, in-laws and more has also tallied more performances than the original Broadway runs of The King and I, Guys and Dolls, Cabaret and Evita. Since 1996, the musical has grossed more than $16 million and inspired seven marriage proposals (all accepted).
Lori Hammel, Mylinda Hull, Kevin Pariseau and Bob Walton star. Joe DiPietro (book and lyrics) Jimmy Roberts (composer) have had success with the show throughout the world, in more than 20 resident stagings.
