Tony Award winner Rick Elice (Jersey Boys, The Addams Family) penned the stage adaptation — based on the novel by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson — which was staged by Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson Tony Award nominee Alex Timbers and Tony winner Roger Rees (The Addams Family, Nicholas Nickleby).

Peter and the Starcatcher will officially open on Broadway April 15. Tickets for the Broadway production will go on sale Feb. 13 via Ticketmaster.

Peter and the Starcatcher uses inventive staging, a company of 12 actors and the imagination of the audience to conjure the world of Neverland and explore how a young orphan ultimately became Peter Pan.

Casting for the Broadway engagement will be announced shortly. The Off-Broadway cast included Tony nominee Christian Borle ("Smash," Angels in America, Legally Blonde, Spamalot, Mary Poppins) as Black Stache, 2005 Tony nominee Celia Keenan-Bolger (25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Les Miserables, Bachelorette) as Molly  and Adam Chanler-Berat (Next to Normal, Rent) as Peter.

Disney Theatrical Productions commissioned the work, which is not billed as a musical, but features a handful of songs by Wayne Barker. Nancy Nagel Gibbs, Greg Schaffert, Eva Price and Tom Smedes produce the Broadway engagement. Peter and the Starcatcher opened to acclaim Off-Broadway March 9, 2011, and extended its run twice. NYTW is where the Tony and Pulitzer Prize-winning musical Rent debuted prior to its Broadway bow in the early 1990's. The new Broadway musical Once, which begins performances Feb. 28, also premiered at NYTW this season.

Steven Hoggett (American Idiot, Black Watch, Once) created the movement for the production, which has set design by Bloody Bloody Tony nominee Donyale Werle, costume design by Paloma Young, lighting design by Jeff Croiter, sound design by Darron L West and musical direction by Marco Paguia.
