"Peter Pan" on NBC May Fly on Soprano Wings; Who Will It Be? | Playbill

News "Peter Pan" on NBC May Fly on Soprano Wings; Who Will It Be? NBC's "Peter Pan" has announced it will feature Christopher Walken as Hook – but the Dec. 4 broadcast will also feature, according to NBC chairman Robert Greenblatt, a woman in the role of Peter Pan.

According to Hit Fix, "Greenblatt mentioned that Peter Pan will, indeed, be played by a woman (there was some ambiguity on that issue when NBC met with the press back in January) and referred to at least one A-lister who won't be playing the leader of the Lost Boys: "Veronica Mars" star and chirpy "Frozen" voice Kristen Bell wasn't able to commit to what is a four-plus month commitment, but there were conversations with her." Late Tony Award-winning soprano Mary Martin originated the role on Broadway and preserved her performance in two live television broadcasts.

Additional casting has yet to be announced, but Playbill.com previously polled our readers to find out who they'd like to see star in the title role.
