News Peter Scolari Will Be The Music Man at the Ogunquit Playhouse Stage and screen star Peter Scolari ("Newhart," Out Of This World, Hairspray) will head the cast of the Ogunquit Playhouse's upcoming production of the classic musical The Music Man.

Directed by Ray Roderick with choreography by Jeffry Denman, Scolari will begin performances as Harold Hill July 20, and the run at the Maine venue will continue through Aug. 20. He will be joined on stage by Julia Burrows as Marian the Librarian. Burrows was seen in Garry Marshall’s Happy Days at Paper Mill Playhouse and at Goodspeed Opera House, Company at L.A.’s Reprise! and Les Miserables at Northern Stage.

Meredith Willson’s all-American favorite, press notes state, "follows the fast-talking traveling salesman as he cons the people of River City, Iowa into buying instruments and uniforms for a town band he vows to organize – this despite the fact he doesn’t know a trombone from a treble clef!" Songs include “76 Trombones,” “Till There Was You” and “Trouble.”
