CHICAGO -- Phantom of the Opera has finally found its cultural equivalent in the Windy City.
The show will play Chicago's Civic Opera House when it returns to town Mar. 22 for a 12-week engagement. Previous tours of Andrew Lloyd Webber's subterranean saga have played the historic Auditorium Theatre, no longer the site of opera productions in Chicago.
At the head of the the 36-member touring company, produced by Cameron Mackintosh and The Really Useful Theatre Company, is Ron Bohmer in the title role, with Marie Danvers as the Phantom's protegee soprano, Christine, and Jason Pebworth as his rival, Raoul. For information, call 312-751-5516.
