The Really Useful Group Ltd. and Clear Channel Entertainment announced July 25 that a new production of the long-running Broadway show would open Spring 2006 as a permanent theatrical installation at The Venetian Resort·Hotel·Casino.

Harold Prince, the original director of the Broadway production, will pilot the Vegas version, which will clock in at a brief 90 minutes. The new will take up residence in a new, $25-30 million, theatre designed and built by David Rockwell of the Rockwell Group.

When Phantom arrives in Las Vegas, it's neighbors (given they'll all still running) will include Mamma Mia!, Blue Man Group and Avenue Q.
