That Saturday night performance is not currently on sale to the public. It's not immediately clear if the current cast will be playing their roles at that performance.
The milestone is unprecedented in Broadway history. The Phantom of the Opera, directed by Harold Prince and produced by Cameron Mackintosh and The Really Useful Company, Inc., became the longest-running show in Broadway history on Jan. 9, 2006, with its 7,486th performance, surpassing the previous record-holder Cats, also by Andrew Lloyd Webber and also produced by Mackintosh. Following that record, Phantom has played an additional 2,800 performances — "which by itself would be a smash hit run for a Broadway musical," according to the producers. "Details for the historic performance and celebration will be announced in the coming weeks."

The musical based on the Gaston Leroux novel about a deformed musical genius who falls in love with a soprano opened on Broadway Jan. 26, 1988. (Michael Crawford as The Phantom and Sarah Brightman as Christine repeated their London roles; he won the Tony Award as Best Actor in a Musical.)
The Broadway production's attendance is now over 15 million; it has grossed over $875 million. The international gross is estimated at over $5.6 billion. The London production, which opened in 1986 at Her Majesty’s Theatre, celebrated 25 years in October 2011. That was celebrated with a special production at London's Royal Albert Hall starring former London Phantom Ramin Karimloo and former U.S. Christine Sierra Boggess (star of the Las Vegas Phantom and Broadway's The Little Mermaid). A live recording of the event was released on CD by Decca and a DVD of the event was released by Universal Home Entertainment.
The Phantom of the Opera has music by Lloyd Webber, lyrics by Charles Hart (with additional lyrics by Richard Stilgoe) and book by Stilgoe and Lloyd Webber.
The Phantom of the Opera has production design by the late Maria Björnson, lighting by Andrew Bridge and sound design by Mick Potter with original sound by Martin Levan. Musical staging and choreography is by Gillian Lynne. Orchestrations are by David Cullen and Lloyd Webber.
There are currently six productions around the world: London, New York, Budapest (Hungary), Tokyo (Japan), Manila (The Philippines) and Cameron Mackintosh's all-new production of the musical which is currently on U.K. national tour. A U.S. life is planned.
The next international opening will be Seoul, Korea in December.
Broadway's Phantom currently stars Hugh Panaro in the title role with Trista Moldovan as Christine and Kyle Barisich as Raoul. The musical co-stars Aaron Galligan-Stierle (Monsieur André), Kevin Ligon (Monsieur Firmin), Michele McConnell (Carlotta), Cristin J. Hubbard (Madame Giry), Christian Šebek (Piangi) and Kara Klein (Meg Giry). At certain performances, Marni Raab plays Christine.
The Broadway production won seven 1988 Tony Awards including Best Musical.
In September 2010, student productions of Phantom started being licensed through R&H Theatricals. It has appeared at hundreds of high schools and colleges across the U.S. and in Canada.
The Phantom of the Opera is billed as "the story of a masked figure who lurks beneath the catacombs of the Paris Opera House, exercising a reign of terror over all who inhabit it. He falls madly in love with an innocent young soprano, Christine, and devotes himself to creating a new star by nurturing her extraordinary talents and by employing all of the devious methods at his command."
The performance schedule is Monday evenings at 8 PM, Tuesday evenings at 7 PM, Wednesday through Saturday evenings at 8 PM, with matinees on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 2 PM.
