After Actors Gang artistic director and film star Tim Robbins teams up with his wife, Academy Award winner Susan Sarandon in L.A.'s The Guys July 30-Aug. 1, Philip Baker Hall and Jeanne Tripplehorn will take over in the September 11 play. Baker Hall and Tripplehorn will appear Aug. 6-23 at The Actor's Gang.
Baker Hall ("Sum of All Fears," "Magnolia") plays a New York City fire captain who has lost eight of his men in the attacks on the World Trade Center. Tripplehorn ("Timecode," "Mickey Blue Eyes") is an editor helping the fire chief write the eulogies for his men.
Jim Simpson, who directed the original Guys at the Flea, also helmed the Los Angeles production. A two-time Obie winner, he is currently working on a film version of The Guys starring Anthony LaPaglia and his wife, Sigorney Weaver.
Tickets to The Guys are $40 (all Wednesday performances are Pay What You Can with $15 tickets every night for firefighters). The Actors' Gang is located at 6209 Santa Monica Boulevard in Hollywood. For reservations, call (323) 465-0566.
