The American premiere of Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s Fleabag opens March 7 at Soho Playhouse. The hit monologue play by the Killing Eve screenwriter, playwright, and performer debuts in the U.S. following an acclaimed sold-out run in London, as well as multiple productions around the world.

Fleabag is written by and stars Waller-Bridge, with direction by Vicky Jones. The play, which inspired the BBC television series of the same name (and is available in the U.S. on Amazon Prime), follows Fleabag (Waller-Bridge), an oversexed, emotionally unfiltered, and self-obsessed woman who suddenly finds herself with nothing to lose.

Fleabag began Off-Broadway 27 and continues an extended run through April 14. The show debuted at the 2013 Edinburgh Festival, winning a Fringe First Award, followed by a run at London's Soho Theatre (with return engagements in 2014 and 2016 and a U.K. tour in 2015 and 2018). The show also played engagements in South Korea (2014) and Australia (2018) before heading to New York City.

The creative team for Fleabag features Holly Pigott (scenic design), Elliot Griggs (lighting design), and Isobel Waller-Bridge (sound design).

Waller-Bridge is also the creator and showrunner of the BBC America thriller series Killing Eve starring Golden Globe winner Sandra Oh. The show, based on Luke Jennings’ Codename Villanelle series, will kick off its second season April 7 on BBC America. The Fleabag TV series will also return for a second season this spring, featuring recently announced guest stars Fiona Shaw and Kristin Scott Thomas.

The limited New York run of Fleabag is produced by Annapurna Theatre’s Kevin Emrick and Skye Optican, David Luff and Patrick Myles, Barbara Broccoli, Patrick Catullo, Diana DiMenna, Daryl Roth, Eric Schnall, Jayne Baron Sherman, DryWrite, Soho Theatre, Francesca Moody for DryWrite and associate producer Bee Carrozzini.
