News PHOTO CALL: A First Look at Wicked Tour Stars Laurel Harris, Kara Lindsay, Matt Shingledecker and Gene Weygandt The company of the second North American tour of Wicked welcomed Laurel Harris as Elphaba, Kara Lindsay as Glinda and Gene Weygandt as the Wizard beginning April 2 at the Saroyan Theatre in Fresno, CA.

The three artists joined a cast that also includes Kathy Fitzgerald as Madame Morrible, as well as Emily Behny (Nessarose), John Hillner (Dr. Dillamond), Matt Shingledecker (Fiyero), Lee Slobotkin (Boq) and Alyssa Fox (standby for Elphaba) with Kerry Blanchard, Jane Brockman, Lindsey Brett Carothers, Bridie Carroll, Antonette Cohen, Haley Ann Dorling, Michael Drolet, Peter C. Ermides, Ryan Patrick Farrell, Kelly D. Felthous, Natalie Fotopoulos, Lauren Haughton, Zach Hensler, Joel Ingram, Ryan Jackson, Becca Kloha, Amy Quanbeck, Jay Reynolds Jr., Wayne Schroder, Jonathan Shew, Mark Shunkey, Madeline Trumble, Nicky Venditti and Justin Wirick.

Harris returns to Wicked after touring with the show for the past three years. She was most recently the standby for Elphaba in the first North American tour. She was also seen on Broadway in the recent revival of Evita. Lindsay originated the role of Katherine in the Broadway production of Newsies. She also toured with Little House on the Prairie as Laura. Weygandt has previously played the Wizard in Wicked on Broadway and on tour. He has also appeared on Broadway in Big: The Musical.

Adapted from the novel by Gregory Maguire, Wicked delves into the back story of the iconic characters from Oz. The musical has a score by Stephen Schwartz, a book by Winnie Holzman, direction by Joe Mantello and musical staging by Wayne Cilento. The production also features scenic design by Eugene Lee, costume design by Susan Hilferty, lighting design by Kenneth Posner, sound design by Tony Meola, projections by Elaine J. McCarthy, wig and hair design by Tom Watson, music supervision and arrangements by Stephen Oremus, orchestrations by William David Brohn and dance arrangements by James Lynn Abbott.

Wicked won Tony Awards for Costume Design, Scenic Design and Best Actress in a Musical (Idina Menzel). It was nominated as Best Musical.

The musical is produced by Marc Platt, Universal Pictures, The Araca Group, Jon B. Platt and David Stone.
