News PHOTO CALL: A Look at Painting Churches With Kathleen Chalfant and John Cunningham The Keen Company revival of Tina Howe's Painting Churches, starring Tony Award nominee Kathleen Chalfant, Drama Desk winner John Cunningham and Katherine Turnbull, begans previews Off-Broadway Feb. 14 for an official opening on March 6.

Turnbull plays the daughter of Tony Award nominee Chalfant and Drama Desk winner Cunningham.

Here's how the Keen Company bills the play: "In Painting Churches, we meet the Church family: Fanny (Chalfant) and Gardner (Cunningham). They are packing, about to move to a beach home on Cape Cod. Gardner is a poet and Fanny is from a 'fine old family.' Their daughter Margaret (Turnbull), an artist who lives in New York, has arrived to help them pack and paint their portrait."
