News PHOTO CALL: A Look Back at Martin McDonagh's Work in NYC Martin McDonagh's latest dark comedy, A Behanding in Spokane, opened on Broadway March 4. Playbill.com takes a look back, in pictures, at the playwright's previous work.

McDonagh, known for his biting, darkly comic style, penned the plays The Beauty Queen of Leenane, The Lonesome West, The Pillowman and The Lieutenant of Inishmore — all seen on Broadway (and Tony Award-nominated). Off-Broadway has also seen productions of his The Cripple of Inishmaan (twice) and A Skull in Connemara. He earned an Academy Award for his first foray into film with the short, "Six Shooter," and followed it up with an Academy Award nomination for his feature-length "In Bruges."
