Private Lives' Alan Rickman (perhaps best known for his screen villians in "Die Hard," "Robin Hood" and "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone") and a former Music Man and "Will & Grace" star Eric McCormack celebrated the lifetime achievements of Barbara Cook May 14 at the Marriott Marquis. Cook, of course, created the role of Marian in The Music Man, which Rebecca Luker played opposite McCormack.
Cook is remembered by fans of classic musical theatre for creating roles in Flahooley, Plain and Fancy, Candide, The Music Man and She Loves Me. Today, she performs in cabarets and concerts around the United States. Her Mostly Sondheim will return to Lincoln Center this summer, then continue on to various U.S. cities.
