News PHOTO CALL: Altar Boyz Final Bows and Closing Party Altar Boyz closed at New World Stages Jan. 10 following 2,032 performances - making it the 9th longest running Off-Broadway musical in history.

The show, based on a concept by Marc Kessler and Ken Davenport, features music and lyrics by Gary Adler and Michael Patrick Walker with book by Kevin Del Aguila. Originally part of the New York Musical Theatre Festival, Altar Boyz opened Off-Broadway March 1, 2005. The musical has gone on to enjoy several national tours, as well as numerous regional and international mountings.

The final company included Ravi Roth, Michael Kadin Craig, Travis Nesbitt, Mauricio Perez and Lee Markham.

A number of cast members from the past five years flooded the stage at the performance's end, joining in for the final song and curtain call.
